Reflections Day 20:

Sitting in McDonald’s using the Wi-Fi when a man comes up to me and ask for quarter. I ask “What are you going to do with a quarter”? He replies, “I am trying to get a couple of dollars for a cheeseburger”. I took him to the counter and bought him a McDouble, fries and a drink.

Why?  At the time I didn’t know why. But this is what was revealed to me.  This is what God does for me.  I know that I need things, but I don’t know always know what it is that I need. He does!  So He gives me more than I would even think to ask for. No questions, no judgment, All LOVE!

How to be promoted, elevated, and lifted up

This is my son, Fisher.  He is close to a year old. He is crawling and walking at times. He is a prety quick fella when he wants to get somewhere. It’s funny, sometimes I just want to pick him up and give him a hug. But first I have to catch him!  That can be an adventure!

You are probably wondering how all this fits in with the title. Just be patient! It will all make sense in a few more sentences.  We live in a fast paced society where many of us are constantly on the move. We often find ourselves on the move. The problem is that we are moving from one problem to another, and from one situation to another.

This is not God’s plan for our lives. Moving from one valley to another and never having a mountaintop experience. If right now you find yourself in a pit, stop to think for a minute. You are running around attempting to climb out under your own power, by your own will. You are frustrated and even depressed at times due to continued failure. Well my friend, stop the insanity!

Be still! In order to pick up my son, I have to catch him when he is still.  Your heavenly Father wants to pick you up out of your pit. He wants to elevate you, but you must learn to be still.

Change, what change?

In the next few weeks and months, this website will come to look quite different than it does now. Many will view our new website as a change. Perhaps it is. However, I do not view it as a change from who we are, as much as a change to who we were always meant to be. Although our mission statement and vision have changed. The core of why we exist is 100% intact. We exist to make a difference in the lives of youth and young adults. We exist to put our faith into action. We exist to encourage others to do the same.

The new website is simply the best way to express what we do in the simplest terms.

What good is it if the only lives we touch are those who already have faith and hope. That’s rhetorical. The answer is none.

Stay tuned for change!

Serving as host of 106 and Psalms was an amazing experience.  I know that nothing but God could have allowed us to pull off what we pulled off.  Thank you to all that attended.

Kat Richards, (singer/spoken word artist), Lyn Richardson, (playwright), and the cast from “Sex his Way”.

I hope that you will join us next month, Friday, April 8th for the next installment of 106 & Psalms.  Trust me, it’s Worth The Trip!

Giving Back our Gifts

In giving back our greatest gifts, which He gave us, we are able to have our hands free. This freedom allows us to worship. When we worship, we send the Lord our praises. When praises go up…Blessings come down. When giving our greatest gifts back, we are able to receive yet another gift, perhaps even greater. This is a never ending repetitive cycle. That is God’s desire. Not to take from you, but rather to continue to give unto you.

Be A Witness

For those of us here at The Re-De-Fined Project, “Be A Witness” is not just a catchy
slogan or a clever marketing campaign, it is a lifestyle. We strive to be witnesses
through our everyday interactions. We believe that we can best share Christ by showing
Christ.

Being a witness is not able preaching at people, or bible thumping. It is about walking it
out, practicing what you preach, and being a living witness. Being a witness means that
if a person had never been in a church, they would still know what the church looked
like through you.  Being a witness means realizing that you may be the first glimpse of
Jesus that a person has seen. Being a witness is not just about how we behave when
things are going well, but about how we react to trouble, turmoil, and tragedy, as well.
Jesus left us instructions in regards to witnessing. He also let us know that the Holy
Spirit is with us during these times.
